Have You Been Affected By A Natural Disaster? You May Qualify For Tax Relief!
Tax Relief for Disaster VictimsThe year of 2016 has been traumatized with disaster after disaster. Unfortunately, natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, wildfires, etc. have hit the States one after another causing tremendous damages, injuries, and deaths of innocent people. If you had filed for a tax extension 6 months from April’s deadline, you are due to file your taxes in the month of October. This year due to all the tragedies, the IRS is providing tax relief for individuals and businesses who qualify as disaster victims.
Take a look at the IRS website if you think you may qualify for tax relief. They have a list of states, cities, and postponed dates for those who have been affected and need an extension. The IRS is providing a variety of tax relief such as postponing deadlines and due dates for those who have been affected by such natural disasters. Some due dates have been extended until October 31, 2017 and majority of states have until January 31, 2018 to file their 2016 tax returns.
